This collection of short stories is, as mentioned above, a good mix of mystery and horror. This is about mass e Henderson, a private investigator for supernatural phenomena, and his partner, Samantha Jephcott which has empathic Fähigkieten. Bother in the Belfry: Here Henderson determined yet alone, the story is just around the character present. Good idea, good opponent of Mr. Henderson, but too short. A fear of fitness: In this short story Mr. Henderson eerie hijinks at a gym must investigate. Here he meets Ms. Jephcott and can recruit them at the end. Very good story, but "the solution" to the problem, I found a little too easy. Bloodsucking in Berkshire: Our heroes investigate another case in which they get to vampire-like creatures. Good, but ends up a bit too open. Moonlight Sonatas: Henderson and Jephcott investigate strange happenings at an old piano. Good story. Horr in the heavens: During the flight to another job and advised Henderson Jephcott on creatures that quasi as pirates like scooped cheer in the air and attack the aircraft or the passengers. Also good, but again simple or quick to say "solution". The states of the art: In a museum disappear a woman and her daughter. Henderson and Jephcott suspect immediately that both have disappeared in a painting. Very good idea, good execution, but unfortunately the story ends open but gets no sequel or a real resolution. The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner Sub-Henderson and Jephcott investigate a case where the parents of a young man should be allegedly been killed a long time ago, but said young man indicates these people were not his parents. Henderson and Jephcott make to a remote town and come here on rather peculiar residents. Well, but again, at the end I was left open too much. Within the walls: Henderson and Jephcott investigate strange incidents in a church, which are dealing in particular with the local organ. Soon discovers Henderson that several churches and chapels are involved, as well as an ancient sect or denomination. Here breaks ne kind of apocalypse, really thrilling horror, the best story of the collection. Under wraps: Here our heroes investigate strange happenings at a clinic. Perhaps the weakest story, but also quite good. Happily ever after: a young bride was told by a clairvoyant she would not survive her wedding day, so Henderson and Jephcott be committed to the bride at the wedding to guard and protect them from everything supernatural. The festival takes a turn forseen. Good, but could be even better. An element of emotion: Henderson and Jephcott examine on a construction site again inexplicable occurrences that appear to have to do with a strange object in a nearby river. Again a good story, the "solution" to the end, however, something simple. Overall, a good collection of short stories with two points, which bothered me. For a few stories to go openly, I usually find nothing wrong with horror short stories, but already, as all cases of our two heroes run in this case, in chronological order and apparently let the two some cases simply open. The second point is: even if all the stories in the field of horror are settling so rarely really bare Horror is presented, usually more mystery. But, as I said, a total of a good book and maybe it is indeed times give more stories on this investigator-pair.
