The display is very sharp, the colors extremely crisp and vivid. The resolution is unparalleled.
The touch screen works very precise and reliable. He responds to the most delicate touches. Not better or worse than my 3G ... just different because you have to exert a little pressure.
But what was to be expected due to the different technology.
The Widges are a good idea and also the 3 different home screens very practical.
Text entry with email / SMS is Samsung, despite the smaller display diagonal super successful. In my opinion, even a tad better than the 3G.
Incorrect entries are nearly impossible for people with normal sized fingers. A good working handwriting recognition is also on board.
A stylus is superfluous here. T9 is also supported and funzt super!
The browser, it may not compete with Safari ... too slow, too complicated ...
affects overall still immature. A link must be clicked for example 2x (1 mark 2 enable) and that makes it extremely tedious and unnecessary komplizert.
The zoom is also much too slow ... from 800 MHz to remember here unfortunately "still" nothing.
I will afterwards surfing something in the cot, I might add me also only
too stupid to! * Lol *
In general I have to say that is not yet mature firmware.
The Equalizer does NOT work. The presets can indeed change, but a change in the sound image is not heard.
The max. Volume is slightly lower than that of 3G.
In addition, the volume is adjustable only in 14 steps.
The audio player has a Cover Flow-like function but which is legally acting sluggish and awkward to use.
The chapter Audio is so clear to the iPhone.
Here Samsung must make improvements and do it fast because without EQ makes it no fun especially the EQ presets with a total of 11 promising SRS WOW HD, 5.1 Ch and Mega Bass features.
Without the Headset S8000 sounds a bit weak in the chest.
But the volume is OK and the sound is mono.
Take up with a Nokia N82 can not S8000 in this discipline.
The included in-ear headset looks extremely high quality but the sound is humble and without bass. Each SE Walkman phone is something better.
With my AKG K324P the S8000's doing much better, but I'm
a little disappointed.
Who now but believe the S8000 is a flop would please more! ;-)
In the field of multimedia and connectivity is the 3G (as well as the 3G S) hands down
consider. The email client is great, it can send attachments (mp3s, photos, etc.,), the camera is very good despite the 5MP, especially
the videos in near DVD quality (720x480) can be seen.
The autofocus is quick and responsive, and the dual LED flash is to use in any case. Macro is available as well as div. Scene Modes.
The gimmick with the motion sensor works well, however, was not for me
buying decision and is more something for Prollen in the schoolyard! * G *
Games are div. Preinstalled.
The FM radio offers RDS also not a recording function ... what I
understand is the fact that the radio has only mono reception.
I do not know if this is another firmware bug or be it ?!
So does listening to the radio definitely not fun especially since the sound even quieter
than the MP3 player.
The appearance of the S8000 (especially the battery cover) is really tasty ... the processing and feel the price is reasonable.
Although everything is made of plastic but this also has its advantages.
The iPhone is a pretty thick & heavy Hoschi ... here scores the S8000
with about 25g less weight and smaller dimensions.
The S8000 is really great in your hand.
Videos swallows the S8000 without this, such as the iPhone, having to separately convert.
The videos run smoothly and load instantly.
Unfortunately, there is no USB driver for Windows 7 so I had to drag and drop in mass storage mode on the mobile data drag.
The data are immediately recognized without the eternal search.
The memory card can change during operation.
The chapter Data Exchange (WiFi, Bluetooth, Email, etc.) is very clear on the S8000.
On the subject of calls and acoustics I can not say much ... I have too short to me about it to form an opinion not the gauges and the mobile phone in use.
Even on standby times I can not say anything yet.
The equipment is definitely high-end.
Unfortunately was saved on the headset to the memory card NOT included and brevity (to say length was a joke) the data cable.
The packaging does not meet the price. But there's a, unfortunately much too narrow cut, leatherette bag. With the S8000 also
can be operated without screen. I'm just saying motion sensors! ;-)
Conclusion: If you go surfing, often used a lot in the I-Net YouTube and emphasis on good sound is better off with the iPhone.
Everything else, the S8000 better.
However, I would not recommend this combination: S8000 + iPod Touch!
At least I'll make it so. The 3G is sold, the S8000 and I keep an iTouch is acquired again.
Why? Well ... the iPhone is really too bulky with the iFrogz-hardcase around it.
The S8000 is much more compact, lighter, faster and has more mobile phone & -camera than the iPhone.
PS: the 800Mhz can feel good when you Browsed in the menus, emails retrieves, playing around with Google Maps or Java Appz running.
I hope you can do something with this mini-review.
PS: The menu (also contacts) can be selected by scrolling quite comfortable with the volume rocker ... funzt super fast!
