Good player, unfortunately mine was defective

The LG BP420 looks for its price range from relatively neat and makes a solid impression mechanically.
The volume when reading and play Blu Ray discs I would describe as rather low / softly. My old Denon DVD 3910 is doing more noise with some DVDs. With DVDs but also the BP420 is a bit noisy when reading. When playing, he is then a whisper.
In the menu of the BP420 is pleasantly fast, I could barely notice jerking or delays in the operation. Just reading the discs requires significantly longer than with a DVD player, but as far as I've heard is to be normal for Blu Rays.
Access to the home network via DLNA works fine and easy, but you have already put the question of how ill you have to be such an inflexible protocol that can reproduce even the simplest folder structures to develop at all. The BP420 can of course nothing of this conceptual mistake, and he plays almost all file formats via DLNA from. Practical value has not, however, especially for larger media collections (> 50 titles ...), because you have no overview and can sort anything / arranging.
The Blu-ray image quality is very good in my opinion, which I can but the only comparable with the old DVD player. Since the higher resolution is on the disk probably account for more than the technique in the player. But DVDs are reproduced very sharp and detailed. Here imho there nothing to complain about.
