This novel has a good starting intrigue: a police investigation into the murder of a priest in the area of the island St. Louis while trying to protect a witness in another case, a prostitute for which s' took a liking. The characters are pretty good, not too agreed, and the two police stories which intertwine interesting. This is for the good sides. The less good: it embarrassed me most is (as another reviewer) the end I found hasty and flat compared to the previous development, which integrate knew suspense. A resolution of the investigation, I thought: "all for that!" ... I have to admit I hesitated between 2 and 3 stars. But although I regret the outcome, I still enjoyed reading. Nothing to be addicted to either book, but it's a small reading not unpleasant. The writing style is pretty basic, but I prefer 100 times that to a pretentious style as we see a lot. The characters and the dialogues sound quite right. There is not much action under race suits, bastons and others, but I'm not bothered me so far. The story progresses at a good pace. It is a reading that I would recommend for anyone wanting a detective story to pass the time. It not break bricks but that's okay.
