Caveat: The camera has a good size, a very good processing and feels very valuable. The infected wireless module is not really attractive, but that can get over. This should have MMN can spoil even within the camera, but OK.
After I got the camera, I have updated to the latest firmware 2.4.0 to start with to date. The call on Chrome or Firefox is almost unrestricted, except for a configuration page, namely the motion detection setting. Windows 8.1 but no problem - To do the Internet Explorer 10/11 requires mandatory.
The Web Interface responds, unlike another review, very fast, I think - but may be due to the new firmware - in the changelog was often a bit of performance optimizations.
What was important for me, is the email notification of motion detection. Here Sony has rectified and the SSL nachgepflegt access. I have tested with SMTP server of Gmail and Outlook.com. At first it did not work and I was due to which, almost willing to return the camera. But then I hoped for hope from Prime Support. After a first telephone conversation I was not overly confident, and assumed that I would not hear now days / weeks of Sony, because the lady had to consult the "product specialists" on the phone. Surprisingly, however, the next day I got a call back and provide feedback. "Funny" as the lady told me that they had tested there email notification once, with the same result - ships will be no mail. Since I was a little stunned. Am I the only one who uses such a simple feature? Well ... they wanted to investigate further. The evening was a mail with the solution - it just was in a setting - undzwar have to enter the recipient's mail as Admin-mail - why this must be so is another matter - for me now but it serves the purpose.
Moreover, there is just about everything on settings you could wish for. Event-triggered spending (email, SD card storage of image / video, FTP upload (btw does. Smoothly), triggering the high-power LEDs for triggering the passive motion sensor, motion detection is freely definable set with multiple points , HTTP notification, etc ...), timed outputs, very detailed set. The combination of settings can be defined.
The picture is - OK, a little more sharpness you could have. The backlight compensation function is very reliable. But the objective is VERY wide angle and really captured a lot - perfect!
I have now decided to keep the camera. A camera for just under 115 of these quality with these settings, you will find hardly. I have already tested various cameras from Trendnet, Edimax, DLink and a few China-Cams -. None came close to matching the Sony. I am now completely satisfied and think about to purchase two Additional Services CX600 for two other premises.
PS:
My power supply has, incidentally, no buzzing!
