1.Verwirrender Title:
Actually there are friends much longer. Already 94 the band toured clubs and no later than 95/96, the band was also through publications such as "always when it rains" nationally known. However, if you know that the idea of friends reunite by the organizers of the Splash! Festival dates and the first LP of friends just like said Festival this year celebrates its tenth anniversary, then you can understand the title already.
(Though, not true, the Splash there are only since 1998..hm So ok: 10.Splash and 10 years since the release of squaring the circle, for all who want it exactly).
Nevertheless, it is in this publication is not an anniversary edition, the squaring of the circle, because after only 4 tracks of this album are included on it. These Ultimately but a balanced Best of album throughout the career .... and that's a good thing!
2.Auswahl the tracks:
My personal favorite tracks can not find now though all on this album, but that's with best nuneinmal offs, so I will not complain. Only so much maybe:
2-3 of available titles, such as "When the Curtain Falls" and "Getting Started" I would rather have heard versions in my opinion gelungeneren Live. In addition, one would have the double release of "Leg to rail history thine ear" leave and the benefit of another classic such as "Enfants Terrible International" (a song that especially in the "Heads" is very popular) can dispense with the somewhat monotonous Studio Version ,
All in all we have here, however, to a successful "Best Of" release, which also clearly shows what friends, or not. The songs cover the subgenres in equal parts: from politcal & Conscious Rap, Liebeslyric, Battle, Represent and storrytelling - therefore, it makes little sense the band of friends in any of these corners to make.
3.Sinn and claim the release date:
As already indicated in point 1, the basis for the publication are thin. Even thinner they are, however, when one considers that of friends only 2 studio albums (with a total of 22 real tracks) are. That's damn little material for such a publication. Or rather, damn late. Because it will be the only and final publication after such a long period of absence. Given these facts, I can only an uncomprehending: Why?
- I would have had the potential of one of the "big Deuschen bands" to be my friends. If added to the summer live even a single new LP, then would Four-Music at the next real band anniversary (2009/10, 15) are able to put together a Best Of disc and you'd probably friends in the future in the same breath as the dead pants, call the Ärtzten and Fanta 4.
-I Wonder what the problem would have been. Because apparently the band members are indeed still, otherwise the Live Summer would not be so in there.
Although many a Friends fan eg Prinz Pi actually not like so much (because of its Diss tracks against FK), so you have yet to admit at least objectively, that he has managed innherhalb six months 3 quality plates has published. Since FK could take a leaf out of it before.
-of Another I envy Max Herre at his position. As the frontman of friends you have yet to achieve the opportunity people like no other. Why does he do it not in use? If he writes the lyrics again for his next solo project, more than half as many people are noticed at all what he has to say.
4.DVD
Finally owning all FK video on a DVD is already nice. The documentary endeavors. Nevertheless, I would not look at him again now
