Due to the overwhelmingly positive recessions and the hope that the shaving head technology the PT920 / 18
possibly even a better shave produces as my current Philips shaver, I decided for this model.
Opposite my HS970 the PT920 / 18 is a real lightweight, but also feels it is no longer so wertig like the old model.
One notices here the same in that it consists almost only of plastic and not like its predecessor is manufactured in the cutter portion of metal, for example.
Whether the rubber in the range of Einschaltknopfes and the power button will keep even 17 years remains to be seen ;-):
Too bad, I also think that the shaver is now preserved only in a 'fabric bag with zipper'
and not a hardcase is supplied as with my old model.
Unfortunately, the new shaver does not fit there, because it is a little longer and curved in shape.
Thus, the PT920 / 18 is not well protected during transportation in luggage.
From shaving her my expectation was largely fulfilled.
The PT920 / 18 shaved very quiet and a lot more thorough than my old model HS970, especially in the chin area.
Also the neck is shaved by far better, but not perfect,
so that here still has to serve every few days of wet razor.
At first I had propagated a burning sensation, especially in the neck area, but this has calmed down after a few days.
Presumably, it was mainly because I the first day with the same contact pressure
and drove the same frequency on the neck, which is no longer necessary but with the new model.
Star award in detail:
Equipment: 4 (Because hardcase for transportation would be desirable.)
Processing: 4 (since mostly plastic and rubber was used, I do not trust the on-off switch.)
Endurance: 5 (Although I still can not give as final assessment, the battery was previously, to now 3 weeks, not empty.)
Thoroughness: 4 (Da 'problem spots' remain in the neck region, otherwise almost perfect.)
Skin compatibility: 4.5 (beginning more, later less to no burning feeling on the skin.)
All in all I can but issue a strong buy recommendation, since the price-performance ratio is very good in my opinion.
Supplement on 14/03/2012:
Only after 48 days (!) In every day about 2 minutes shaving time I had to charge the shaver for the first time.
I really thought already, the 'battery low' - Display may fail to operate.
Charging time is as stated, pretty much exactly 1 hour.
Only drawback is if you do not the shaver emptied daily (with my old model gave 1 x per week)
escape the then small pieces of shaved hairs from the shaver
and deposit on the rubberized grip area of the shaver, and in the fabric bag.
My Star award remains the same anyway.
Supplement on 26.03.2013:
I use the shaver now over 1 year, the battery power is still top.
The on / off switch works perfectly so far and the rubber coating also has no signs of wear on.
Solely the thoroughness of the shave is a little subsided, but this is also clear
because the shaving heads of course be a bit dull with time.
A change of shaving heads so far but also not necessary.
I can still recommend the shaver fully.
Supplement on 07.17.2014:
Even after more than 2 years the razor still works flawlessly
and the batteries still hold more than a month with daily shaving.
So far there are no signs of wear, just a change of shaving heads is now slowly required.
