Good router - but no signal or range improvement

Have the router since about 1 week in use. Actually, should by purchasing an improvement in signal quality or an increase in range can be achieved (as in the description touted). An improvement in this respect, I could not achieve (neither in 5 still in the 2.4 GHz range). The old wireless router achieves identical good results and is now already a real scrap heap. I reserve the router but still because it offers many useful features (media server, guest WLAN, etc.).

The installation was very easy. I am not a professional and have the device by means of German Quick Start Guide managed quickly. Only the printer I could not integrate into the network without any help. A detailed instruction manual is only available in English!

Why the points deduction?
- No improvement in range of the wireless network (compared the Thomson standard router Telekom Austria)
- No (detailed) Operating Instructions in German
- The software and instructions for integrating the printer also led me to nothing (but am not an expert)

Otherwise, with its numerous functions, however, a good router
