After initial difficulties with the drivers under Windows 8, the scanner is now running smoothly. However, I use VueScan instead of the supplied software (which is terribly confusing and user-unfriendly). There are 1 star deduction. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with the scans. Have more than 1,000 slides and negatives scanned and the images sometimes look better than the recordings of my first 2 megapixel digital camera. With a powerful computer, a scan takes about 20-30 seconds. With a slightly older laptop, however, ever up to 3 minutes.
