Good Scanner (attention no depth of field)

My old AgfaSnapScan had to give way due to lack of driver support for 64-bit this scanner. I have chosen deliberately for an inexpensive model, I only occasionally scan documents and a few photos. I particularly like the very small size of the scanner and the AC power adapter is needed. So I now have an outlet more freely and more desk space.

The scanner works properly under Windows 7 64-bit, the drivers are automatically updated over the Internet. Due to the various setting Canon CanoScan LiDE 100 scanner options can achieve good to very good results in documents. Users, however, the scan from books, but consider the following. The scanner is a so-called CIS scanners. This enables particularly flat design. However, this requires that the scanner has no depth. Thus, if you scan books that areas that are somewhat removed from the disk very blurred. Anything that does not plan rests on the disc is not in focus. Those who can not do without depth of field, should buy a CCD scanner. For my purposes, however, this scanner is perfect.
