The practice looks but different. The baby arrived and so, now the evaluation is ambivalent: the BHP453 is really not bad. It is handy, even a Röhm lining has still trying (so that it differs from many current top model of the brand) and is actually intended price range basically quite competitive.
I do not write too much about the obvious good points as handiness, for the price range still solid performances and very well feel that the previous reviewers have already - and rightly so - done. Rather, I want to the previously submerged and still - point defects - depending on the application key.
The most serious shortcoming of the wrench itself - for me, something is always subjective - is missing and not for love or money retrofittable depth stop. Sure, the part at the side handle and the Makita is not mandatory in the torque class. But: Hammer drilling without depth stop? What shoud that? Either the plug goes in is not deep enough or it sinks in to deep hole. Sure you can say that such a device is not a hammer drill. But then I'll buy a device without hammer action, which is then also easier. So: As a result of the defect, the hammer action is limited. For most users, less important, but for me angry, was the finding that the - totally sufficient for home use - 1.3 Ah batteries as flat building (in terms of handiness rather a plus) that a cultivation of from good reason not lead standard belt clip to the fact that the device can be placed no longer on the battery. The belt clip is but at least for me not insignificant, since I usually only solve a lot of screws or fixed screw, then "get rid of" the unit must carry around a little and then wants to screw. And where is the device? Ideally, the belt and not 10m away on the floor. Ok, that may be a luxury problem, born from the successful experience with the old pro-Makitas. What bothers me is it anyway.
Nevertheless, the screwdriver as such would - since he is now time not a professional device - get another 3-4 star. But what I paid the higher price for the 96-piece set? The bits are definitely not better than the rest of the all too familiar China-waste. Even the "pure" magnetic holder without mechanical interlock is a "better" unworthy instrument. Even the opening mechanism of the case hakelt ... It's a nightmare ... What distinguishes such scrap from the likes derided DIY goods? NOTHING !!! Then you could really annoy ... or just return the set, just as I did. For any additional amount hiss the price for the pure screwdriver and the kit you do not get though much accessories, but usually necessary for personal use quality bits and holder. I bought the regular benötigeten me bits in platinum nitrite and the common drills individually for almost exactly the price. Ok, is in terms of the amount not so much, but it is quality.
Conclusion: who can live with the not sooo bad screwdrivers and its limitations, the buy it straight - without superfluous and cheap Set - for measurably less money and buy individually the quality accessories as needed. However, I would also not do: either to the device to be low - and it is not my opinion - then do you get at the hardware store equipment with an attractive price-performance ratio - or class. In the latter case you spend more money. Those who choose The latter, however, may also be cautious. Unfortunately expensive is at Makita no longer in any case good as the BHP454 clearly leads in mind. For me it is then the Makita BHP451 become that meets all expectations (see my review here) and with whom I am after almost a year yet totally satisfied.
Hope to have helped.
