The camera was delivered very quickly, as I'm used to it from Amazon.
At first I was unsure whether I should buy this camera. This was due to the myriad of 1 star reviews, in which the installation has been criticized. But since I technically versed something I wanted the camera still a chance.

Processing / Hardware / delivery
====================
The delivery consists of: camera, installation CD, power cable, LAN cable, screws for wall / ceiling mounting.
The camera is neither cheap nor bad assembled. I assume that I will so long have my joy.
It should be noted that no wide-angle lens is. A subsequent upgrade is not possible!

Installation
====================
The installation I found to be relatively easy. The Quick Start Guide here describes all the necessary steps. Once you have accessed the software on the CD, does one of the assistant also nice through the steps.
At the end of the camera to the WLAN (or via LAN cable) is then connected and the LED turns green.
What is not described so precisely is that you should call the camera's IP address in the Web browser after installation. One arrives at a simple interface, are made on the additional settings. Here, it is also possible to be assisted by an assistant. It should be ensured that the camera adjusts its time through a web server. So I have solved the problem at the wrong time when the notification emails.
Once you have (see above by calling the IP camera in the web browser) entered his email address and password in the web interface, the camera can also send the images to the email address. The forwarding really works very quickly. A few seconds after a motion I have someone already in my inbox. Anyone who has ever set up in Outlook or another email program an email address, so you should have no problems here.
The entire installation took about 2 hours with me. But after that all settings were exactly as I wanted them.

Monitoring modes
====================
Personally, I have motion detection enabled (set at the Web UI also the hacking at "PIR", otherwise not being detected). The sound recognition I've turned off because this is really very sensitive and if only the ringing of church bells is sufficient to trigger the camera.
On the web interface it is possible to turn a specific monitoring period. One can select individual days and determine a start and end time. The camera then takes up all the movements during this time. A daily individual selection of the start and end points is not possible. One can only determine which days the general settings should apply.

Quality of recordings
====================
Who expects record 100 EUR HD, I have to disappoint you here. There is still a security camera in the low price segment, but the shots can be proud of. One can recognize the faces of people really very good and the night mode does what it promises. The battery is apparently having a residual light intensifier. The faces are clearly visible even at night, but you should not expect miracles here. In complete darkness, the recordings will be in accordance with a bit worse. But it's enough of very little light to make decent recordings. We are for example a fly trap in a corner. The little light of Flytrap enough here already to recognize the faces well can. I'm definitely happy with it.
The recordings are limited to a relatively small area of 3-4 meters. Hierdruch can not be fully monitored so a room. But if you give some thought gets where the camera hinstellt / hangs up, you go at least ensure that you get added movements of people. Again hands me the camera completely.
====================
App
====================
Here we come already to the reason for the deduction of points.
If you want to turn on the camera, this usually does not do on the laptop, but easily accessible via an app. Even when you come back home, turning off the motion detection should just work on the app.
Unfortunately, this is only possible via the iPhone app.
In the Android app, there is currently a programming error that does not turn on the PIR (Motion Detection). The result is that the app displays, motion detection would be turned on. But if it is not. You can move in front of the camera as you like. It made no recordings. If you have switched on the motion detection via a PC and you want to turn it off via the Android app, this is unfortunately not possible. There continues to be made shots, even when the app indicates that the motion detection would be turned off.
In the iPhone app this error as I said does not occur. Here, the switching on and off works without problems.

Conclusion
====================
I would recommend the camera with a clear conscience.
If D-Link now also the problem with the Android app to get a grip, there is of me 5 stars.
Who is expected to HD quality 100 EUR wrong here. The camera takes good shots where you can also recognize faces very well.
As a webcam for video calling, I would not recommend it; since there are cheaper models. But it is also not the field of application of this camera.
Who is looking for a good camera to monitor a range of 3-4 meters, can safely access here.
Update 10/17/2014:
D-Link now seems to have got the problem with Android devices in the handle. The motion detection can now be turned on and off with an Android device. Therefore, as already announced by me 5 stars.
Update 02/08/2015:
Unfortunately, the software issue with the Android operating system seems to have occurred again. Although the app indicates that the camera is "on" is, however, the motion detection does not work at. Whether videos and images is to be made, therefore, only a matter of luck. The camera is thus for Android users is anything but reliable, which is an absolute knock-out criterion for me. You purchase at least a camera in order to rely on this and can not in order yet to be uncertain whether and how the camera detects motion.
The PIR (motion detection) is not turned on Android, which movement can not be detected.
The 3 stars are available for the application on iOS. Here, the switching on and off works fine. But since I use an iPhone and my girlfriend has a Android smartphone, the camera is (at least in relation to the Android app) is currently unusable for us.
Very disappointed I am by the support. Despite repeated reference to this problem, I have never seen so far a feedback on whether and how to accept themselves the problem.
Android phone owners, I can only advise against purchasing this camera, therefore, unfortunately. Once the Support contact me and the error has been corrected accordingly, I will of course update the review.
