It's spring and the sparrows sing again! Here anno 2010 the third album of Red Sparowes. I eagerly open the outside beautifully crafted album and first I notice the shortness of the track title. Well, inserted Silberling and consulted. Certainly with a certain expectation regarding sound spectrum and instrumentation. The Red Sparowes I loved in particular because of the Electric Steel Guitar used on the first album, which generated a very unique sound in the context of post-rock. The almost complete absence of this instrument on the new album, I found a bit unfortunate. I do miss also a common thread, every song looks alone, to compress in the other not and inserting in its brevity always right and partly uninspired. The formerly rather flat Sparowes sound has changed, I felt while listening to God Is An Astronaut recalls. Conclusion: not a bad album, but the next release of the Red Sparowes I will but first check it out.
