The name docking station is unfortunately misleading.
This charger is only for the comfort of the charge mobile phones via the pogo pin connectors on the side of the Xperia Z.
A connection of the cell phones to the computer could, but made in the case on the Smart Connect Manager in phone automatically via WLAN or Bluetooth (with the usual restrictions)
But now to the actual "docking" station
Pro:
-Halbwegs Solid workmanship, even if it is plastic
-Works With the AC adapter and charge / sync cable that comes with the phone
-SmartConnect Function
-Unkompliziert
-just as soon as direct load on power supply
Cons:
-Works With any Case or bumpers
Not -Works through a connection of the sync cable to the USB port of the computer (Sony also warns explicitly against)
Anyone who uses his Xperia Z without Case is well advised with this variant ....
Who wants to do without any Case and the constant purity / rausmachen want to miss out from the case does not come around to the aufporkeln of water-resistant micro-USB connector
.... Except he ordered the much more expensive alternative of Cases with Qi-charging function.
Unfortunately, there is only one provider for its solution and I think (although I have gained me) overpriced.
The quality of mobile phone shell stands in proportion to the elegant-looking phone itself.
