Bobby McFerrin to cut down on "Do not worry, be happy", a sacrilege would be equivalent. This exceptional artist is so incredibly versatile, that it always opens in fact with each of his albums a whole new world. This debut is still very tame in comparison, but absolutely accessible, witty ("All feets can dance") as well as melancholic ("Sightless Bird"). It sounds very much like the fashionable fusion jazz of the early eighties, straightforward, but lively and surprising. In addition to THE VOICE, the Chick Corea collaborations, beyond words and SPIRITYOUALL one of my favorite works of this genius.
