To my situation, I am a collector, gamblers and for about 30 years active gamers. So I think I can very well form an opinion on the pros and cons of a console. Except for the PS4 and XBone I own every console since the late 80s.
Nintendo had since the late 90s have never known the largest software bring out the lineup for a console, but there are a few on each console so high-quality titles, already alone justify the purchase of the console. That's when WiiU otherwise, surely there is the known as IPS Assasins Creed, COD or Mass Effect 3 on the WiiU but current title as GTA5, or FIFA 14 in vain. For this you will be pampered with exclusive beads as the enclosed Zelda tWW, Super Mario 3D Wörld and from May onwards a Mario Kart 8 in HD. Moreover run almost 100% of all Wii games on the WiiU, even the titles that have been downloaded from the VC on Wii, running with one exception 1A (Lost wind) and even see a little better than the old Wii hardware, but what is the HDMI port.
What I'm saying is that it arrives on the expectations that you have when purchasing the console, if one is happy about it or not. For me, the pros outweigh clearly, but I can dodge on the XB360 or PS3 to not. The hardware has enough power in any case and is the PS3 and XB360 technically superior. These barely audible, which was still a major problem, at least for the older models of both consoles.
Pro:
- Great Exclusive titles more quality, less quantity
- Interesting Game control options through the WiiU pad with touchscreen
- Gambling without TV by streaming the software on gamepad
- Priced ca, 40 - 50% cheaper than PS4 and XBone
- Almost silently / fine workmanship of the Controller and Hardware
- (Almost) all Wii Games run and see slightly better, the old hardware of the Wii is supported (Wiimote, Nunchuk, etc.)
- Storage of the console is very easy and cheap by USB sticks or external HDDs extensible
Cons:
- Software selection of 3rd game manufacturers a bit thin and the prospects are not very positive
- Of the game pads battery lasts only about 2 - 3 hours
- Wireless range of the GamePad for the gamble with no TV very small, with me max. 5 - 6 meters
- No optical output for Dolby Digital or DTS, PCM only 5.1 via HDMI cable. Older systems have unfortunately only 5.1 Stereo Sound
In summary, there's me a buy rating for the WiiU if you do not interfere with the restrictions. I am very happy with it.
