Great album, bad remastering

Rebel Yell (Expanded Version) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

To the music on this album, I need say no more. Except for two or three average songs there are loud classics, especially "Rebel Yell", but also "Flesh For Fantasy", "Eyes Without a Face", "Blue Highway" and "Catch My Fall", which at the time in Germany climbed even also at # 11 on the charts. Why I'm the bother to write another review, the quality of this remastered edition.
I got the disc still as vinyl and long they waited me on CD nachzukaufen. Now I have done it and I am not particularly enthusiastic. The bonus tracks not not worth the purchase, and the sound more than ever! Of course it's always a matter of taste. But I have particular "Rebel Yell" and "Eyes Without a Face", which one does find on many samplers, compared with other times CDs, and I think it sounds too bassy and thus dull. If "remastering" means that everything just gets more "oomph", then you should save it to the same. If I want more bass, I'll do it myself with the equalizer. The CD itself should have a reasonably balanced sound and this is in my opinion not the case. Too Bad. Worse sounds only "Eyes Without A Face" remastered by Blank & Jones on so80s Vol 3. My advice:. Hold dear to the original CD out ...
