What has always fascinated me about this album, is the sound. For me it has actually something magical. He sounds playful, dreamy, yet has the necessary bite. Brian May also contributes with his runs (often divided among several guitars) in its part. (Genial are also the accompanying music video - pure magic!)
The themes of the songs are based around the movie Highlander, however, are not quite my thing, even if it is still quite worthwhile to listen to the lyrics of the songs accurately! (One Vision (2011 Remaster) was the way "Iron Eagle used" not in Highlander, but in the film.)
The REMASTER has succeeded well in this album. The sound of the old CD was great, but the album sounds now even a touch crisper and more transparent. Fantastic is also let to good define the individual instruments in the stereo field!
The bonus tracks of the deluxe edition is alternative versions of songs from the album (incl. A live recording of One Vision (Live At Wembley Stadium, July 11th, 1986)).
There was an older CD that already contains a couple of these bonus tracks. On her even a version was included, which can be found not on the deluxe edition ("A Kind of 'A Kind of Magic' ').
Overall, the remaster is well done. The bonus tracks of the deluxe edition are quite nice, but not really offer anything new.
