Profile should be:
- Best-to-get image quality in a compact camera (which are brought out otherwise a "photo" camera?);
- Maximum-to-use zoom range combined with good quality image stabilizer;
- Ease of use and easy handling;
- Easy to read display;
- Good flash, which is well suited for interior shots;
- Good value for money;
- Good photos in the automatic modes (... how is that otherwise also work differently, here's an example: Look a bird is flying - I am now in ??? - mode, with / without flash, with background blur, at Aperture anyway, with continuous shooting at ??? So now'll start a, the set only ever on his clippers - - - prima, ready - and the bird is gone: - ((- so better it goes well, soon on an automatic going program, target and fire, BAPP is the bird in the box - so I do it anyway ...);
- Geo-tagging via GPS for me unimportant (deadline eh only battery power, and who knows actually afterwards no longer where he had his pictures taken, sorry, but that's why you do it straight from the place where you were, even photos - or ??? For Dedektive That would be probably a "must");
- Video quality is not soo important (I would have been looking for a camcorder).
Then were to compare the following cameras:
- Panasonic TZ-25 and TZ-31,
- Sony WX100 (small size appealed to me then already)
- Sony HX10 and HX-20
- And even Canon SX240 and SX260
where I order before the cameras a pre-selection of image quality on relevant websites and reviews, such as on dkamera.de, undertook. There you can, for example, next to each other in each case at the photos of two different camera types with different recording modes, which I made on the PC and on the flat screen TV (here already fell the Nikon S9300 and the Samsung WB850F out the same because these image quality me there already not convinced)
My results compared to the Canon SX240 (main shots in the offered automatic modes):
- Panasonic TZ-25: slightly inferior image quality, poorer Blitz, a bit more expensive, customer reviews about dust in the lens deter me;
- Panasonic TZ-31: slightly inferior image quality, poorer flash, too expensive, possibly dust problem in the optics see TZ-25, but "touch screen" ??? - Who typed as you go, while you somehow have to keep the camera around on the screen Kleenen back with his thick fingers? Who has tried this, will know what I mean - so to develop a nonsense devoid of any logic to me!
- Sony WX100: beautiful small and fast, and good image quality, but poorer lightning, less push for about the same money;
- Sony HX20: slightly inferior image quality, poorer flash viiieel too expensive and no external charger included, very good video quality and GPS - but I need not necessarily in a camera;
- Sony HX10 (which was the strongest Konkurentin): image quality only a very small bit worse (you can see only on selected photos), flash bad, expensive and no external charger included, Zoom worse Video + GPS - for me not so important;
- Canon SX260: pay only for additional equipment details GeoTagging via GPS 40-50 euros more, why ??? (It may prefer an extra battery, SD card and pocket to buy).
Conclusion:
Those looking for an Always-In-compact camera with as much zoom, combined with a really good image stabilizer, really very good photo quality in the automatics with flash, in a well-made case investigated by sharp Monitor, which can, yes I have, the CANON SX240 recommend scalding. Also this camera makes video in very good quality and is also very well made. I have the Canon SX240 acquired in online trading for 193.00 Euro, Amazon are currently available for 199.00 euros a SDHC card to because you can not do much wrong.
Other cameras have here and there a different / better, but also expensive to be paid equipment. These have for my requirements but a slightly poorer image quality, but that matters to me with a camera.
++++++ Supplement dated 08.02.2013 on "scratching the lens": ++++++
Reviewer Ute Sautter says:
This problem is known at Canon. Is fixed within the warranty.
The scratches occur only when the camera is in a tight box or bag and accidentally starts by pressing the play button. After putting a slight pressure on the shutter release button, then the lens extends and this is the opening of the curtain slats blocking what vertical scratches caused - sometimes even without dust, simply because the edges of the fins are not clean.
One can not have everything - either as compact as possible Superzoomkamera or a super rugged outdoor camera.
Remedy: There are matching bags with hard case - for example, by Lowepro among others As a result, no button should be pressed unintentionally and a fall time of a good piece of hand makes it then nothing.
In his pocket they no longer fit, however.
... I think that's probably an interesting read!
Updated on 11.08.2013:
Have the camera still and am always happy about the good pictures. My parents I bought here on Amazon before the model run another SX240 in silver for 164.00 Euro. Both cameras are top.
In the media market, I could try out the new generation of Canon and Panasonic. All I can say is that the additional price of about 100.00 Euro is justified here in any way. All tests certify a total of poorer picture quality of both brands (see eg chip.de) than the SX240 / 260HS!
