If is written here in some reviews about the fact that you can play the burned Blu-ray Disc's on any other BD players, so it is on the inability of the user. When you record programs in 'DR-mode (HD) (preset by the manufacturer), you must convert at least on HG recording before burning to a BD-blank. If you forget this, the BD really can play then only in this recorder.
Also here some customers complain about the low burn rate in BD's.
This is not peculiar to this recorder, but is due to the BD media. This may be just burned only with a top speed of 6x.
Conventional DVD-R it is burning at 16x speed,
conventional DVD + R, he burns with 1x speed,
conventional DVD + R DL blanks with 1x speed
and the Blu-ray Disc blanks with 6x speed.
According to my previous experience of Recorder BD media from TDK sees as incompatible.
He also has problems with DVD + R DL blanks from Philips and Verbatim. Also not compatible.
With BD-blanks and blank DVDs Verbatim there are no problems. Likewise, there are no problems with DVD + R DL blanks from MediaRange.
In addition, I can "High Speed Copy" is not recommended, as this just too many when copying to Blu-ray's errors.
When the recorded program with the sound format DD was 5.1 broadcast can transmit this sound format only on BD media. In conventional DVD media it is only in DD 2.0 (Stereo).
In standby mode, this recorder consumes 4 watts, which can be reduced by limiting the amount of time for the quick start-up phase. Then the consumption goes down to 0.2 watts.
For me a worthwhile purchase!
