The device is very high quality, due to the weight, I take it to a real wood cabinet, which of course makes the interaction with the used bass reflex technology for a very good for these dimensions of sound. The front panel is fitted clean, the knob has good tactile snap points that are helpful for better navigation through the menus.
Lt. Description Sangean supports the UPnP standard, the Logitech can not handle what for me ultimately was the killer for Squeezebox with this. While there is no 100% certainty that the devices are compatible with each other, with the music box as shared via UPnP USB stick to my Fritz box 7170 is the WFR-20 anyway wonderfully clear. I can so my entire MP3 collection on the Sangean stream, without detours via separate software, such as those the Squeezebox requires mandatory.
The addressed problems connecting via WLAN and WPA I can not confirm the Sangean works both wireless (WPA2), and via LAN easily with my FritzBox.
Where there is light, but is also shadow:
Unfortunately, the WFR-20 does not have a real switch, with inserted power plug can only turn the unit "Standby", this disadvantage I have resolved with an on / off switch for power cord. The device needs now while after turning a little longer until it is ready for operation (the integrated operating system must first drive up, also is on the radio every newly connected to the network), this fact I suppose but willing to accept.
The device does not have a USB port, something ought to be mandatory at a mid-range device.
The Registration via the Reciva portal was largely without problems, however, wanted the page my default mail address partout not accept, so I had to quit the application via another user account, but it can not help the Sangean. Furthermore, the remote control is very run "simple", the configuration and operation is thus unnecessarily complicated, I use most like the knobs on the device.
All in all I am very satisfied with the device. I did not think that one for me unknown until now manufacturers from the Far East to offer such a balanced and absolutely not cheap-acting device, the poorer I think it's the top dog Logitech, which Squeezebox is expensive and, moreover, as described above not even the UPnP standard support.
Benefits:
+ Very good workmanship
+ Very good sound (for this compact size)
+ Trouble-free integration into existing networks
+ UPnP functionality
+ Detailed, German manual
Disadvantages:
- Not a true on / off switch
- No USB port
- Something simple remote control
