The grievances and fates as a result of this two-tier system was tangible and palpable, the staging realistic but at the same opulent and generally everything seemed very detailed and well thought out. That goes for me already going on with the language: In my opinion, not for nothing that the poor people in the world who speak Spanish (a reference to Latin America, I guess), while the money elite speaks French to Elysium (could be an allusion to high Society places like St. Tropez understand).
In general were the first 20, 30 minutes of the film due to the above reasons for its grandeur.
But unfortunately the film could not maintain the level and lost, because he too wanted to curry favor on mainstream or perhaps had.
What could have been done anything from this?
- The action is great, and red-hot
- The actors are designated and competent
- The budget was great and the optics accordingly tip
But unfortunately all this is useless if the second half of the film an almost pure sci-fi Action-No-Brainer is.
- The length of the movie is the action not the least bit reasonable. Here would have definitely done well to characters, plot and Co. bring more forward 30 to 40 minutes more.
- The plot degenerates into a mere black / white struggle between good and evil (protagonist vs. antagonist). The system-critical aspect disappears almost completely and everything is manifested in the form of evil individuals, making the action to something implausible.
- Cinematic begins the film to make Atmospheric ultimately perish everything in Geballer
- Is peppered the whole later with logic holes and even local vending. Be it the human, Wachen- and robotic empty government buildings, ministers without any security personnel, conspiracies like the children screenplay or or or.
I would love to give the film more stars because do not misunderstand: The movie was fun!
But just as blunt 08/15 SciFi-action movie and where the film on the one hand the potential for so much more could have and that's what wanted to be on the other hand, at least if we are to believe the start.
Well ... Conclusion:
Wasted life of the film was as I said not, fun hats also. The plot is well implemented from action movie view (apart from the usual logic holes), the characters play their parts convincingly (if it allows the character) and the appearance is simply terrific. Therefore, a completely solid and good action NoBrainer. But, unfortunately, no longer.
