I am fortunate to be among those who were allowed to explore with large, wondering eyes Auris world and have enjoyed the fact that the book is not much happening - or just yet. Coupled with the wonderful Rothfuss style, the book is simply a beautiful piece of literature.
I do not know whether I would have liked the whole thing still 200 pages long. No. The book has just the right length.
But the following is important:
It is not continued Kvothe history. We do not know more about the King Killer, which will be the case in the "real" book 3. In this book we find the course of the day of Auri, for a few days. * SPOILER WARNING * There will be several pages long cooked soap. * Spoiler *.
The Kvothe history can with absolute certainty even more when book 3 really comes out. That here it is not, it is not even an appetizer for this, as this is not the aim of the book. This book is simply a beautiful piece for themselves. It plays in Kvotheversum, is of one of the characters, you know from the other books, but it's just not a new band.
Oh yes: The book is not suitable as an introduction to this world. These recommended still "The Name of the Wind".
