The offered package convinced me in any case. I welcome:
- Great sharpness in the center even at full aperture
- Optimum depth of field at f 1.4 and APS-C - for full-format I find about a stop less depth of field often as a problem
- Small and compact
- Very valuable
- Aperture ring with inscription (in contrast to zoom)
- Little gegenlichempfindlich
- Good bokeh (despite only 7 diaphragm blades) - from Aperture 2.8, however you can see the polygons of the diaphragm opening slightly in the lights
- Little distortion, CAs and other aberrations
- Rectangular lens hood looks great
- Autofocus sufficiently fast, but slower than the 18-55 Zoom
Negatives:
- In the corners somewhat blurred at maximum aperture - but falls in everyday life not usually
- Loud noise when focusing and constant clacking when the open or close
- No Internal Focusing - the lens changes its length when focusing. But it's not too bad in practice.
- Attention: At my XT-1 does the continuous autofocus NOT! The objective is always sharp to the point of focus around, but can not focus properly. Since I do not use AF-C with this objective, which is no problem for me. But who needs it, will be possibly disappointed
The whole package fits in any case for me and it is great fun to take pictures with this lens.
