Great music but lousy production

This beautiful music invites you to dream and I have only discovered because I happened to see a TV live concert of the two. (Castingshows interest me a damn)
This review I write for one reason only.
To protest these days as materi- al are broken optimized during production to cheap-playing devices (-> Loudness War)

I had from the beginning the feeling that something has gone wrong.
From the first track I feel yelled at because the level is much higher than that of other CDs. If one then looks at times the dynamic range you know why this is so. Compression without end DR 6-8.
This CD may sound fine on a portable radio.
On a good investment one must make reductions even though it's still a great experience due to the great songs. Therefore 3 stars out of protest. Less would be the opposite band unfair.
