And no regrets.
The Image:
Wow - what an improvement for Z3 - is already an old man but was, at the time a top projector. Better color, finer representation (higher resolution) more light output. Everything just gets better. The black level is a little better compared, but I think this is not for me so dramatically failing difference is more like my white walls as the projector itself What is definitely better -. Dark details are much better to recognize.
Lens Shift / Zoom:
I have the projector hanging from the ceiling, ceiling height 2m40, and he hangs about 30cm below the ceiling. Here I have to turn almost all the way that I get the image correctly on the screen to vertical lens shift. Importantly, the projector must be oriented at a right angle to the screen, at an angle under any circumstances. The convergence correction is in fact integrated in quasi lens shift. Electronic correction There are none. Overall, I would give it good here the note. Offers definitely more than the DLP competition - again considering the price.
Menu / Settings:
Very lush, even for geeks who feel free to adjust any image parameters like, more than adequate, especially for the price range. Whereas you had to say, that the presets, especially Natural supply, with little adjustments have great pictures.
Volume:
The volume of the projector is about as in the Z3, ie at the highest level, perhaps even a bit more comfortable and quieter because the sound is a bit deeper.
This mind in optimized Cinema mode with Ecoeinstellung.
At full light output then he turns indeed already high, but since then you realize the benefits of yet voluminous housing, here it is much quieter than the Z3 and does naturally to classes more than the Z3 was able.
Generally one can say that the weakest performance setting in terms of light output, the Z3 is far superior.
The Comparison:
As you have already heard out - the Z3, it surpasses in almost all areas by far.
Compared zm 3500 I would say is not worth the additional investment, unless you have an optimized home theater room on. The difference for me was only marginal.
What about the 3600. How already reads on other sites, is intended to settle this between 3200 and 3500. Therefore, of course, not from personal experience, you can here very likely also assume that you will notice the difference only in optimized home theater conditions.
Conclusion:
Who wants to have a quiet projector with great image and can not be put off by the housing dimensions gets the big screen at a more than reasonable price here.
Update: 04/12/2010:
Have the projector is correctly calibrated with a Spyder3TV and can only lay each warmly. The already great image quality has become again better with me. Better plasticity and depth give an image that anmutet sometimes even three-dimensional. If I had not anticipated, but which shows everything in the unit plugged in, if you set it really right.
Update: 20/01/2012:
Having the projector is now a few months I had to send in him. With me paint stains had formed in the projection, which was on a dirt in the light path or the electronic suspect. The fan ran not quite round. Also I had a subtle but perceptible brightness pumps. Have read in forums that the projector is probably not protected optimally against soiling. This is likely to be due to the open design that was made because of the high light output and the associated heat.
I have the projector posted - Epson - and had to get it back after about 3 weeks. Was done under warranty and now everything is ok.
