First, a little to the look and feel:
What the pictures speak, is fully consistent and feel when you hold the device in his hand goes one better. The undocked tablet feels super light and very handy. It fits perfectly in the hands and holding with one hand can tire the arm not. Add to this the really elegant design and fine workmanship. A feeling I had previously in still no device of this class.
The included dock, in which an additional battery, a USB port and not least a keyboard is, the device for me makes it a complete replacement notebook. The keys respond properly and have a pleasant but firm pressure point. The writing is in any case very quickly by hand.
Features and performance:
Here I honestly do not know where to start first. Anyway, Windows 8 RT is preinstalled. Setting up was easy. Linked to a Microsoft account to get also the same benefit from the synchronization. I have 8 parallel installed Windows on my computer fixed and all settings such as the were from the People app assumed equal. In order not to write a review about Windows 8, but I prefer to concentrate on the special features of the tablet.
The screen offers a very good and uniform illumination. The brightness is also convincing in daylight and sunlight. The reaction of the touch display is by far the best I've ever seen. The scrolling menu and the Apps expires without jerking or slopes. Even the Browse the image library brings no halt to the fore. Also the zooming and scrolling in the browser is a highlight. And I like that here with the best. You get a full-fledged browser with Flash support and runs flawlessly and without any lag. I was so far only with the device, its brand a half-eaten fruit shows used, whereby Flash videos and animations can be played here.
Otherwise, the device still a Micro-SD card slot and the slot for the Micro-SIM card (NOTE: Micro-SIM). The switch top (left) sits exactly where you would expect it. The volume control is located on the right side. A hassle off the power thus does not happen.
BTW: The connection to a 3G network also runs without difficulty. I tried it with a Fyve SIM card. Enter PIN and you're done. These Windows automatically loads an app from Vodafone from the store, which provides an overview of the used Datenmängen. (This app is, however, not required).
In addition, still a nice thing. If the tablet is docked, you can control the mouse it completely. The Multitouchpad in the Dock works here just like you're used to with a notebook.
Practicality and experience:
I have the Vivo Tab now for about 9 days and it has become my constant companion. Anyone who has seen so far is very enthusiastic. The (or batteries) also keep their promises. I was just on vacation for 4 days. The tablet I have fully charged the night before my departure, and now it shows me still Tablet 34% and 5% Battery Dock on. And I've used very often. When switched off despite constant connection to the WLAN, it consumes little power. With the preinstalled Office I keep my hotel expenses by Excel constantly overview. Also, I have every day in the evening connected my camera and transfer the images on the device. The camera was incidentally detected immediately when you have attached without problems. The images app I was able to easily import images. Those who prefer a more classic but here the opener just the desktop and his photos Simply copy the Explorer onto the tablet. The camera is namely easily recognized as a drive (Just as the microSD card). The images we have of course looked at rest. There were also at the hotel even WLAN, which then led the network even for intensive surfing. Evening I also written extensive updates for the days events and photos of my family. Here the e-mail program also works well with Sky Drive. (Everyone knows that you have to always shrink photos only, therefore does not exceed the size limitations of email service provider). One can simply say that the photos are placed in the mail on Sky-Drive available. The Mail program will take care of the rest.
Conclusion:
It may sound as if you have to pay me to write this recession. But I can say I'm just a lucky buyer who ASUS Vivo Tab RT and is fully enthusiastic about Windows RT and would definitely recommend each other. Optics, speed, functionality and practicality of the tablets have convinced me personally.
The apps in the store are every day more and more. But when touch device (without dock) can all use (and even the Windows desktop, the to the smallest detail that looks exactly like the pure Windows desktop in the rest 8). Features like msconfig.exe, Panel- and administration and even the regedit.exe are all there. Along with the dock obtained an unprecedented user experience. You will also need, as the owner of the dock no annoying sleeve for the device.
ASUS, here you have truly presented what that needs only once a better.
