this is or is my first review on Amazon ever. I was so far always a bit sluggish, but since I have read a lot of research and even before buying the Thrustmaster GTE Wheels, I wanted to get rid of my experience after about 2 1/2 weeks.
Maybe it will help one or the other in making decisions ;-)
Feel:
So now the Wheel itself, the workmanship is very good.I was a little skeptical about the quality of the steering wheel cover.
Previously I had the Logitech G27 with leather which was very valuable and pleasant was in the hands.
But I must say that I am absolutely satisfied, it is great in the hand and does not slip through even with fast steering movements.
Clear the sheath works by gumming not quite as good as genuine leather, but nevertheless, the haptic or the grip of the GTE Wheels is great! The shift paddles are processed very valuable and can be a perfect turn to.
The individual operating buttons act also processed very sensible and showed after this brief period of service no weaknesses.
(15 functions can be programmed via the button)
The entire optical already looks zeimlich "horny" from racing layout ... clearly 1+!
Force Feedback:
FYI I play with the wheel eg RaceRoom Racing, Dirt Rally and ETS2. (Hopefully soon Project Cars)
I can compare the GTE Wheel directly to the G27, I must say that the quality of force feedback for me absolutely perfect ist.Entscheidend for this is of course, the programming of the respective game itself, very clear!
The clear advantage over the G27 is the clean force feedback transmission. The G27 is a great steering wheel, no question, but the sounds of gears and sometimes a bit clunky transfer of forces through this was a bit annoying.
The forces of GTE Wheels are also much more intense (Force Feedback strength stands at 75% in the driver) and one has also to the zero point is always a clean steering feel.
Pedals:
Yes the big bone of contention in this product. I can only say that this pedal unit (known yes without a clutch pedal) his service done pretty neat. (After conversion significantly beser) Anyone who says that does not go these pedals is in my opinion not richtig.Sicher there are much better pedal sets (by the T500 RS for example) but you can indeed buy when needed sometime to.
But I can also say that I have a little better like the pedals of the G27.
A very sensible skid resistance on my laminate floor I could produce only a few Velcro strips. It came but every now and then to slight shifts in braking, so this modification of me, after that everything was great.
The brake pedal even I have slightly modified with foam, which clearly manifested itself when driving.
The sampling rate of the individual pedals I'd better estimate than that of G27 Pedalsets.Sind but very sensitive over the entire range.
Mounting:
The wheel clamp for attaching to tables is fine and let himself moor easily in my 5.5cm thick desktop.
Fan:
The fan is always an issue but I can say clearly that he does not interfere with play. When wearing headset you do not hear him. And when I play with my 2.1 system is also nothing to be heard. (Normal room volume) capacity needs to be cooled just as well!
I use the run-on time of the fan for the gamble (ca.3-5min) as a way my CPU or GPU to cool same clean down!
Then there is then the Shutdown ;-)
Note:
The steering wheel began after about 2 weeks in some areas steering a strange noise of itself give. (Metallic bright sounding)
While still sporadic but clearly audible through the headset! Continue along and observe ;-)
Let's see what there still is so ....
Conclusion:
I for one would buy the steering wheel definitely be back. The pedals are to use first pretty neat and an exchange of this will take with me yet.
Particular strength is clearly the great force feedback of the steering wheel and the racing look.
I bought it for 260 euros here and can say very clearly that you can not go wrong at this price.
I hope this has helped the / one or the other a little in their purchasing decision.
