For size: Compared with iPhone4 and iPad2 shows: The Galaxy Tab is almost exactly half the size of the iPad 2 or as large as 3 iPhone4 when it puts together cross. So for me, the optimal size, the iPad 2 is just too heavy and too big, to keep it permanently in his hand.
The build quality is high despite over plastic, even the feel is optimal for a tablet. The Galaxy Tab is angenem in hand and due to its low weight, it can also quite times hold with one hand.
Because I've always wanted to take a trip to the "Android World", which was also a plus for the Galaxy Tab. In summary it can be said that Android a while offers more possibilities than iOS (and me personally also pleasant) , the Android Market is currently the AppStore but can not hold a candle from the App Quality. But this should hopefully change in the future, so I'm in good spirits here.
Among the negative aspects:
The big "shock" came at me with the display. Now I'm probably a bit spoiled by the iPhone certainly Retina display. However, particularly font looks pretty pixelated. The iPad 2 has (despite significantly larger display!), Although only a little bit higher resolution (1024x768 vs. 1024x600), but there just seems everything razor sharp. When Galaxy Tab font looks very pixelated graphics and some very "spongy". Can you read (without going into the zoom) the iPad2 all wonderful, this is much more difficult with the Galaxy Tab. I am spoiled in that respect from the iPhone4, but if the iPad 2 despite significantly larger display with comparable resolution hinbekommt a glaring difference here that speaks simply to a high-quality display. Over time, though provides a habituation "in the context of the possible", but a stale aftertaste remains. The display will cost definitely 1 star. Somewhat surprised I am, however, know that this seems to be disturbing and noticed no one else here.
A "half star" deducting the GalaxyTab fetches from in general use. It could partly go faster to the point, especially when surf Flash-containing sites comes the GalaxyTab but noticeably to its performance limits. Although an alternative browser (DolphinHD) improved the situation, but definitely not eradicates this out.
Conclusion: I'm after 1 month still think that we have made with the GalaxyTab the right decision. The weak display, the partially low speed and the high bit underpowered Android Market make me the bottom line is 3.5 stars. Because there are only so many full star to forgive, there are 4 in the hope that in future the Android Market continued to improve. And if with Gingerbread (if it finally appears as) is rotated at the speed screw, then justified the 4 stars.
