In general, the screen is a stunner. There is still something colorless and luminous than the Tab 3 and also has its slightly yellowish discoloration at the bottom not (edgewise considered). The automatic brightness control can, however, also in this Tab again - as usual from Samsung - forgotten. On top of this developed here is a momentum of its own and also regulates high when menus are opened. The resolution of the display is expected to be extremely high, at least it shows yes four times (!) Pixel amount as the Tab 3 8.0. Even the smallest fonts are still represented very clean. If you look in comparison to the same size font of Table 3, it will be particularly noticed in very small fonts as blurred as they will look when printed on the Tab Pro as on a high quality laser printer. Individual pixels are imperceptible. For serious photographers, the Tab Pro a good opportunity to showcase their own mobile photos in a small circle. Of course, you should have a suitable microSDXC card in the slot. The Tab Pro scrolls and zooms even 12 MP JPGs liquid than many PC. The app QuickPic is more comfortable than the supplied application. The same applies to the Mail application. This I have already replaced as at Tab 3 of the recommended Aqua mail.
I had the purchase even the announcement of Tab S models with their AMOLED display in mind. Its wider range of colors probably at least 93% Adobe RGB and one GB more RAM would have irritated me. However, I know from my phone with AMOLED that this display technology has its weaknesses. First, the relatively high power consumption at high white or color proportion (ie in particular surfing) and the limited maximum brightness, on the other hand makes the luminosity of organic LEDs over the operating time by significantly stronger than normal LED backlights of conventional LCD panels as in Tab Pro. The color display of the Tab Pro's but already beyond reproach, so I hoped here to me little room for improvement of AMOLED. Also one says the Exynos processor Octacore the Tab S WiFi models less power than the Snapdragon quad-core of Tab Pro after. In addition, the Tab has fallen below 300 per last, so that it eventually became so the tab of choice for me.
Slightly disappointed I am by Samsung's Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. It has very quietly abolished the dock bar with shortcuts at the bottom. I found very handy under 4.2.2 and have they missed the Tab Pro very painful. Remedy creates an alternative launcher, in my case the Nova Launcher. The brings, among other things with a freely configurable dock bar. Although the font size under the program icons is somewhat sparingly, but at least one, the display uses so better. To configure the Nova Launcher you have to indeed incorporate something into the available options, but worth it. Also disturbing is the lack of rights for Apps write access to the memory card. Google treats these cards more and more neglected, although originally rather an improved card handling was announced for newer versions of Android. Why vs. the assignment of the 3 buttons at the edge. the Tab 3 has changed, I can not understand well. Access to the options menu of apps is now in any case considerably more cumbersome.
A general criticism of all tablets in the market, I have:
Dear Manufacturer, finally builds change batteries in your tablets. Especially Samsung can but also different, see Galaxy S series. It can not be but that such a sophisticated device for 2 years only get more expensive special !!!
The bottom line is I can for this exciting device but only express the full purchase recommendation, again at any time.
