I am generally enthusiastic about the "Special Edition digipack". It has the original master tapes again revamped (In the previous remasters Master were sometimes used that were already processed with equalizers. Not in the digipack. Here at each album, the mixture the original recordings of the studio used) was sealed to nothing and nothing away -. only the possibility of digital ENHANCE and removal of noise and noise was used. Ultimately applies to ALL Digipacks: The sound is in direct comparison to the previous remasters crisper, clearer and more transparent. The bass is punchy, pithy drums and the vocals more present. The dynamics of the CD was better utilized: They generally controls was loud and the noise was minimized. In quiet passages you can now each puffs of Bon Scott and each gripping and fret buzz and Angus Young hear what makes the board even more lively now. From very soft to very loud, now you have the full dynamics and indeed with a perfect, yet warm sound. For reference, the original vinyl pressings served. And you can hear that: the warm, living a record has been transferred to the best possible CD. But what has now led me in '74 Jailbreak to all this to write again: On this album you can hear the difference at times most clearly. This album has always been one of my favorite albums of AC / DC. Firstly, because it contains very nice, quieter but melodious pieces of Bon Scott, the other because it has always had a great sound. A sound, some with percussion, which is not typical of AC / DC. These ingenious, sometimes polyphonic guitar solos. Each of the five pieces is a catchy tune and Joe Williams "Baby, Please Do not Go" has never sounded better! And now I hear the jailbreak digipack - madness. Now I noticed only how much noise was included in the predecessor and how unbalanced the sound was still. Although it comes from the same master, the album acts now much fresher and the different instruments sound in direct comparison even more differentiated and at the same time harmonic (also a good set of headphones a real treat!). '74 Jailbreak is a true masterpiece of music restoration. Without distorting the actual sound quality of the recordings was improved to an extent, as I had just kept it in this album impossible! In addition, each digipack is the key for online callable bonus material. Just follow the instructions on the CD to follow, then you come in this case, for example, a promotional video of Jailbreak (awesome!) And the song "Stick Around" and "Love Song" from the Australian "High Voltage" version. Lovesong among other things, AC / DC's only song that is also a real acoustic guitar can be heard!
