Anticipation very confusing in this device: there is a old version in white housing with black antennae and a new model in blue with gray antennas. The two devices not only visually differ quite strongly. If I were the producers I would have given them different number - I would dealer I had separated the recessions of the devices. For me, the old behind the model number V 1.8, the new V 2.1. Visually there is ever a clear one for the new version of the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND. The blue glossy design with the gray antenna is really very chic and already sees more by design than by technology. But as soon as all cables are in it has also relativized. Compared to the old TP-Link TL-WR1043ND has the blue one Unlock to toggle. I think that's great and I missed the old. Also there is an extra switch to turn off the wireless network - this was previously a multi-property age. For residues are now no longer needs a pen - because I'm not sure if that makes me the meaning. The installation process is well described in the quick description and is also absolutely no problem. Only during the later fine tune a surprise: the Konfiguratgionsmenü is in English and can not be changed surprisingly. To change that you probably need a new firmware - which there is not yet for the device. Clear one should get away with English - I think it's annoying nonetheless. Otherwise, the configuration will be fine but, even if not always easy. I have searched but inherited a Function: Set the maximum time an Internet to protect minors - which I expected. You can just restrict sides and also set the time window (this also limited to the MAC address of the device, not just the IP). But you can not say: Participants X gets only an hour Intern et day - something parents need but (possibly). The range is okay but not as much as I expected. This device is connected and on the ground floor - fit first floor - but already on the stairs to the attic is the end with WLAN. Overall a nice, convenient and thoughtful unit. Because of the limitation in the parent function and the menu in English only, unfortunately only 4 stars.
