Have recently bought the SAM 18-135 mm to my new Sony SLT-A65V. After some comparison photos with the, in my opinion, very good SAL 16-105 mm compared. I have to say I was very surprised. The image quality is after the SAL 16-105 mm in nothingness. The images were as sharp and brilliant, as I knew it from the SAL 16-105 mm ago! Clearly they do not quite reach the quality of a fixed focal length, but as "always on it" while traveling, etc., a great alternative to Tamron and Co. Compared with the 16-105 mm lens is a lot of "modern" because lighter, quieter, faster AF etc. The DMF (Direct Manual focusing, without first having to disengage) I find awesome. All in all a really great push. I am looking forward to the tests of the relevant photo magazines.
Addendum: When activating the Smart Converter (1.4x and 2x) the A65V were in the longest focal length (135 mm) these photos (even flowers macro) still surprisingly good. When traveling, with little luggage, you really should not require further telephoto lenses for stronger telephoto.
