This score marks the first collaboration with Hans Zimmer Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance former with a bewitching voice and writing mid landed mid air ...). Ridley Scott was always very picky with his choice of composers (Blade Runner, 1492) and this film he chose Hans Zimmer happily. Far from being an action whose music yet he created the model of the genre with his cronies médiaventuriens (The Rock, The Peacemaker, Crimson Tide ..), Hans here confirms its appeal for intimate and ethnic scores still "powerful" and love for the instruments and performers. With GLADIATOR he explores the varieties of writing: the Wagnerian lyricism, ethnic percussion, action waltzes, partitions for Duduk (Armenian flute), nostalgic passages on guitar (played by Peirera) and especially voice and the sensuality of Lisa! Real fire fireworks music everyone will find in this album a track that looks like him. Hans Zimmer has once again made an incredible service to a frequently despised genre (film music) by offering us a universal work that touches the heart. The +: The album is organized as a series without dead time between tracks. A bias that you will evoke images of the film chronologically.
