See you all powered northwest Iceland, both on an island than on the mainland port town that connects.
In a now customary method, alternating from one chapter to another from one place to another. On the island where a camera is formed between 3 people experiencing paranormal threat around the house they are trying to re-enter into a guesthouse. And on the continent where a central character, Freyr, who is a psychologist in hospital, trying to revive after the unexplained disappearance of her son. Of course, nothing seems to link the two stories to end.
The original idea is good but often this alternation risk to stall because the whole part about Freyr is full of details that we sometimes struggle to remember after a stint on the island, especially as these indices may well reappear later. This requires extensive reading, this is not the kind of book to read and resume a week later. Perhaps this reflects there a lack of mastery of the author in the development of the plot. Besides including the end, it seems to dwell on unnecessary descriptions while the denouement arrives abruptly leaving a few outstanding issues.
Would recommend to those who want to frighten moderate and are willing not to drop the book once it started.
