For me there were two requirements for the new TV Philips Ambilight and
I'm interested in is not smart, Apps, 3D or other "trendy" features,
but (very) good picture, good sound without sound bar, etc., rapid changes possible, possibly CI slot. Is still an issue for my wife design.
But what did I get for the price, was just disappointing.
Positive:
+ Super design with Ambilight on 3 sides
+ Sharp image quality HD, DVD, etc .; Clouding / artifacts, less the movie Poseidon (long dark scenes of RTL (no HD), otherwise I think it's very good
+ Sound for my needs quite well; rich bass; without Soundbar / 5.1, etc.
+ Simple installation general (WLAN faulty)
Negatives:
- Processor is simply overwhelmed; everything is sluggish; when switching on / power-up, it takes up the picture, you then can not equal change channels or adjust the volume (ie when switching on and family sleeps, is nothing runterdrechen with fast volume); it goes by but some time until the desired function can be performed.
- Device switches off by itself sometimes, or by external influence (turn an iPhone 3 - TV out)
- Device stays now and then when changing channels "hanging" power plug must be pulled out
- Wifi did not work when installed
- Very much needed time with Philips support order update firmware; not managed to complete only after resetting the device to factory settings could an update via USB are conducted. Some of the OE shortcomings are still present.
I bought a TV in order to watch TV and not have to put up to get updates, Installatioen, etc. - because I can equal tinker with my old PC.
Had always Philips - now I'm just very disappointed, because this is not about a Monday device, but many users have the same / similar problems.
Too bad that a company like Philips brings so ungereiftes unit in 2013 to market.
Ie Get me a device from another manufacturer buy.
