Comparing the Sennheiser HD 219 with the Sennheiser HD 205, the HD 205 has clearly ahead. It costs less, sits stably on the head, has a longer, thicker cable, delivers a jack adapter (small to big) with equal, and even sounds better. May well be that the HD 219 boasts improved performance data. Its major shortcoming is (and remains ??) the continuous foam part, which serves to cushion the concha. Normally should in the middle, such as the HD 205, be a circular hole, so that no superfluous material disturbs the listening between the speakers and the ear canal. Why was waived at the HD 219, is beyond me. Anyway, it seems to me as if by this disturbing and therefore superfluous foam some flutes goes to heights. That's why I prefer the slightly heavier 205er.
