Heino Eulenspiegel

Anyone who has experienced (as I do) the '60s, remember how it was when SGT. PEPPER for the first time crossed the station and all fans of the so-called. Beatmusik the next day about it discussed, and even pop and classical music listeners with open ears. The new sounds were something that connects, even if you quarreled over it. This also was not the glam rock of the early '70s, and even for ABBA. Around 1980, however, was an end to it. Pop culture was divided into countless subcultures. The secret soundtrack of those years was, up to the present day, the DAF-piece ALL AGAINST ALL. In one but they all agreed that is progressive mentioned in Germany and later in the united Germany Heino had to hate.

I have never hated Heino, not even in its early days. While most (supposedly only :) tough youth went with the fashion, Heino made always his thing - and so consistently on pop and also the pop mainstream over that I already during the 70s said that basically was a Heino Punk. Kuckt you times on the cover of the first LP of DEVO.

What THE TRUE HEINO made, I found only funny, but soon tiring: for all the fans, the one hand, all the despised what the original seemed to be, on the other hand, however, saw no problem in her punky outfit, their record collection and her to be financed Band Equipment by parents and their teachers '68 uncritically nachzuquatschen everything they promised to write good marks and eventually also a study, be it economics or Graphics / Design.

Meanwhile, the baby boomers are about 50, and even many of them are mentally just as inflexible as once their parents. But now comes HEINO who might be her grandfather, and turns all a nose. He who hated (and perceived) philistine, brings all to a common denominator, which seemed incompatible: and made it in a few hours that the variety of listeners - without that it would have been given them by a reviewer army - so on a disc can some as once on SGT. PEPPER. At the same time HEINO has managed to all those who are upset about his interpretations as to unmask the real true philistine. Suddenly too many younger people who considered themselves enlightened and witty stand as the oh-so-dumb folk music audience, in a corner with the evil old and drooling over a 74 year old who dared to break down all the dark-brown and red-green walls, between which they had all decorated so cozy.

This is not only a smart move succeeded HEINO and its management, but a downright subversive action which is already an integral part of pop history, and even of art and social history of this millennium. Probably Andy Warhol and Joseph Beuys would have enjoyed it. In any case, all humor gifted have their joy in the CD and the shrill merchandising. All this will not perish. And the world counts loudly to ten. Here comes the Sun. Here comes HEINO. Who laughs last, laughs best.
