A beautiful novel in the inimitable style of Hemingway
All the themes of the work are found in Hemingway's "For Whom The Bell Tolls". It includes a willingness to face an inevitable death, the influence of the will over its destiny, the concept of duty. Even more than in his other novels, Hemingway raises questions about the meaning of life.
The story of Spanish Civil War background, is fascinating. A description of the uncompromising fratricidal Republicans and Nationalists. The main character is very close to the Hemingway personality. And around that character will be grafted complex and endearing characters as charismatic and idealistic Pilar.
