I discovered Henry III with this book. I was not attracted by this particulèrement king before, nor this time of history. I did not know even nothing Mr. Le Roux's book explains very well how fanaticism can lead to horrors, fanaticism coupled with delusions of grandeur. I only wear the Guise family in my heart now. A lot of nonsense has been said about Henry III then finally he was a great king, he just has not encountered a good time. It has taken a lot about himself, took many decisions for his kingdom (and had the courage to give protection to the Italian philosopher G.Bruno). It did not fit into the mold of the ancient kings, rather boorish, it was fine. Henry emerge in the final with all the glory, poor Henry !! This period of the history of France was an important element in secularism today
