I have 2 devices in the BENQ W712 in my company in operation. Buying criteria were: Quiet and bright addition to convincing the device, I found the 3-year warranty and the lamp life.. According to the specifications the perfect device. After unpacking then the shock: The instrument should have 27dB in Eco mode? Never in the life! Also annoying a high whistling noise. At this point, kudos to the BENQ hotline. On request me has been confirmed by BENQ within a short time that the whistling sound is produced by a defective wheel. I immediately got an RMA number, after 1 week I had the device back and the high whistle had gone. A second device, that I ordered then, had the same quirk (I was, however, warned of BENQ in advance that this would send back to Amazon with reappointment another device probably have the same problem), but was just as easily repaired.
The only shortcoming of the device still remains the volume. I had hoped that the large housing would BENQ used to install a really quiet fan, but the fan noise in the normal mode is annoying in a 40sqm classroom with students. The Eco-mode, however, is still bright enough, and so you can live, even if the fan is still clearly audible.
So all in all: the BENQ support is good, noisy but otherwise been highly recommended by the unit of the exchange Farbrade a little. One can only hope that BENQ finally has the defective devices from the market.
