What you get today in the hand? First of all, a very aussergewönliches feeling. The haptics correspond entirely to a solid analogues of the last century. Weight, balance and usability are perfectly coordinated and lead the experienced Oly users to a "deja vue" experience. It everything is just right. Two dials, are controlled via the aperture by default, / speed and exposure compensation and a dial for the various shooting modes, of which there are the following:
- IAuto (Full Auto)
- P (Program AE, but with tweak-ability)
- A (Blendenprio)
- S (Zeitprio)
- M (Manual)
- Video
- (OOC composite images) Photo Story
- SCN (scene modes: Presets for various shooting conditions)
- ART (art filters)
Of the latter, the E-P5 not all of the more modern OMD's and E-PLs, it also lacks the ability to do live shots composite. That falls to me, however, of little consequence, since I do not often use these features and have the case of the cases nor the E-M1 at hand.
In addition to the 5-axis image stabilization, a furious fast contrast-AF and the possibility of up to 9 fps in burst mode, a FN button, which can prove Olympus typically free (like all other switching and buttons) and after up and down swiveling, high-resolution display.
Access to the MFT lens system is understood, whereby the heavier well in harmony with the Body in relation to the E-PL larger and heavier.
I use the e-P5 as a backup to E-M1 together with the VF4, It suits me very much that the batteries fit mutually. Otherwise, both are almost identical in handling and operation.
Shutter-Shock is not an issue for me, I had never, not even in the other two Olys ....
In short, to be the ideal complement, on the way, my favorite camera for me.
