High utility and fun

I own the iPhone 4 now 2 weeks and would now like to describe my impressions here. Last year I had bought by chance a used iPhone 2G, which convinced me very quickly, although the 2G is already technically obsolete because no 3G and no GPS. Before, I was one of the consistent Apple haters, with its comfortable handling and the sheer endless possibilities to convert me 2G by Apps. The OS of the iPhone is in my opinion still one of the best operating systems.

What can you do with the iPhone? One thing is clear, only to call me I really do not buy. As commuters I've been using it for listening to music vorwiedend, look Potcast and read Nachrichtenl, and sometimes to shop at Amazon. Write online banking, navigation, calendar, emails and retrieving are more often genutze functions. From time to time I play, the selection here is huge, most games there is even nothing, my children use this feature popular and frequently. Home used the phone primarily as iPod, here the phone with many features can boast that make me really fun. Whether as a remote for the Samsung TV, or Remote for Apple iTunes, or for wireless music transmission via Bluetooth, remote control of iMac or PC, music streaming from the server or over the Internet via Audiogalaxy, the possibilities are breathtaking! Precisely measured the wow factor that I had in exploring the iPhone 2G, this remained the iPhone 4 as much as possible from, because in the core OS's as well, except for the absence of some new functions. The phone looks very classy, ​​however, associated with the constant fear that the everyday use does not pass without leaving traces on the exterior. And this seems to be that way. o I have never seen a cell phone, where you would be able to compare the quality of the photos with a compact digital camera reasonable. That's when the iPhone even so, there also avail the 5 megapixel nothing. However, the lightning is a significant improvement, the autofocus also.
o The video recordings are very ordendlich, but here immediately notice the lack of image stabilization, you have to keep very quiet already, otherwise it wobbles violently.
o The FaceTime feature would be a real asset if it would work on the move.
o The battery life is still not satisfactory, a maximum of two days, then is conclusion considering its possibilities still ok.
o Without Cover the older iPhones are better in the hand.
o At first, it has something gezickt with the wireless connection, although well within reach, there has still connected to 3G. But that is now again OK, no idea why.

Negatives:
- The entire exterior is much too sensitive even for normal use without the protective cover that was made better with the first iPhone (aluminum back which is replaceable) This is the most negative for me factor, the phone is simply not rubust enough next time Benefits of Beauty please again!
- Unfortunately, the voice control works no matter what I do, the phone begins sometime to call wild numbers.
- The price is Apple typically very high.
- Multitasking works! Unfortunately not all apps, listening to the radio in the background is not part
- The network coverage even in the urban area of ​​Hamburg is not always good enough to listen to the radio without interruption reasonable.
- Not understandable why Apple stubbornly refuses, the iPhone to miss a regular radio tuner.
- Unfortunately, older docks will not work fully or partly not at all. Very annoying, why not come to grips with, to abide by the existing standard.
My Onkyo Dock no longer works with the iPhone 4, in all other there is an error message that the accessory was not developed for this device or something similar,
but always out it runs anyway.

But a lot come together, which is not so ideal or annoying. So there is still room for improvement. But I can think of anyway compared no mobile one, which could be measured by the benefits and functions of the iPhone 4. Although the competition is catching up, but the market is still opaque and unstructured, with other operating systems you degenerates inevitably to beta testers. This may look better in one to two years already. Therefore, I would buy the iPhone at once, I am in total by the high utility and fun factor but very satisfied with the device.

Who has an iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 will be found in not so many new things, such as the advertising would have us believe.
In that case I would be waiting for the next generation. FaceTime currently works anyway only with WLAN.
