The packaging is very simple and environmentally friendly. The chest strap and the transmitter unit were in a small plastic bag, the rest of the packaging is made of paper.
The pack contents: chest strap, transmitter unit, runtastic activation code, service addresses, promotional brochure and a course manual, the short and sweet but perfectly adequate and understandable describes in German and English, the product and handling.
The transmitter unit is powered by a CR 2032 battery, which is already installed. Unfortunately, this was not protected by a plastic strip, which you first must remove to put the device into operation. The transmitter unit can be easily removed from the belt. Thus, the chest strap can be cleaned easily and may even in the laundry up to 40 °.
The belt can be easily adapted to the size of the chest. About a loop and a hook can be anleben the chest strap. The comfort is projecting.
As I mentioned above, working already with the runtastic app, I did not need the activation code. However, I find it very positive that Beurer attaches a code. So you can train directly with the Pro version, without having to pay extra for this.
My first attempt to connect the chest strap with the iPhone was an immediate success. In the settings of runtastic Pro I have the chest strap activated and after a few seconds the program has established a connection with the belt produced.
After that I tried runtastic Roadbike. Here, too, the chest strap without major problems had to connect. The next day, I then graduated with runtastic per training. This time, not immediately, the belt was found after starting the app. After I disconnected in the settings, the app has regained the belt. During training, the belt and the app worked perfectly.
The next day, I used the app runtastic Roadbike. The belt can not be found. A separating and re-seeking the chest belt was not successful. The runtastic Pro app took the belt immediately. The change to the runtastic Roadbike App brought no success again. Also, the restart of the iPhone 5 did not result in a connection. The constant testing of different apps brought after about 5 minutes the runatstic Roadbike app to crash. After a restart of the app the chest belt was found and worked flawlessly. Apparently has runtastic in this special App for cycling the support of the chest strap to revise. The runtastic Pro app worked fine.
Through a pulse belt I can see from the readings, in which pulse range I just find myself and can therefore train more accurately.

Conclusion:
I am very happy with the heart rate monitor. Only the app for cycling has to be revised by runtastic.
