When I recently viewed on ARTE a documentary about "A Tribe Called Quest", I have changed my mind about this kind of music completely. I used to think that was just a sort of rap with songs re-enacted. In part this is true, but there are also entirely self-sufficient pieces. In addition to the CD "Low End Theory" which I have added myself, certainly one of the milestones of this musical style. In particular, "Luck of Lucien" recalls, although the music has emerged in countries' 80s, in "The Streets of San Francisco" or "Bullitt". But the other pieces are to switch off and thus is not music meant. What now to round out missing is "Three Feet High and Rising" by De La Soul.
