Solid entry into a new urban fantasy series

Jane herself is a strong woman who has not fallen on the mouth and can offer anything from their environment. In places, it seems to me even quite violent. Your rugged nature is quite understandable, considering that employment she carries, but there were some points in Skinwalker where it is slightly too seemed crabby. As a hunter she is qualified and well equipped and they can fend off their skin. Thank God Faith Hunter gave her some more gentle side, which mainly come to the fore when it comes to her friend Molly and their children.
Jane is a whole range of supporting characters to the side, one of which in my opinion except for one, but two exceptions remain no one really remembered. Hunter does not manage these figures breathe real life. Here single out is most likely to Leo Pellissier, one of the members of the Vampire Council, which developed a keen interest in Jane and wants to get behind their secret and his "servant" Bruiser, who seems to cherish slightly romantic feelings for Jane. The vampires in Skinwalker are in my opinion also not very exciting or revolutionary. Faith Hunter served here broadly to the usual clichés. There are the so-called Rogues who kill wild animals as everything that gets in the way, and there are the sane vampires who live among the people and servants and slaves have read them every wish of the guests. The vampires are powerful, have the ability to hypnotize their victims and their bite brought into unimagined ecstasy. Nothing new so.
The plot in Skinwalker is quite exciting. The entry into the novel is still a bit slow, but the pace increases over the course and the showdown is enthralling. The tone in Skinwalker's total rough and violence and gore is not saved. The further the novel, the more blood flows and flying bones, what delicate strung minds will deter most. The focus is clearly on action and the search for the vampire, the romantic sounds are silent and highly attenuated. There is in contrast to many other urban fantasy novels no sex scenes and / or fiery declarations of love, which is quite a nice change.

Total Skinwalker is the solid beginning of a new series. The entry of the novel was a bit sluggish, Beasts idiosyncratic voice is used to, the vampires have not torn me away, but Jane is a sympathetic heroine with potential and the final third of the book was really thrilling.
