Plus points:
- Much more convenient and faster than a tape measure, just in nooks and crannies. Even when working on the ladder, such as Hang lamps, for measurements over head, over long distances extremely practical.
- Very accurate. Deviation compared with the measuring tape and to more expensive laser knives max. + -1 Mm. Dimension display interspersed with multiple measurements to 1mm.
- The Hold key stores the last measured value. When times can not easily read the scale, press the Hold button and then reads quietly up close.
- Very compact and practical.
Bad points:
- No arithmetic operations with measured values, volumes or surfaces must be calculated differently (for he's just cheaper)
- Measuring only from rear edge
- Small contact area to allow a 90-deg angle is difficult to precisely maintained. But deviations lead to measurement errors. If you have to measure accurately but you can often geared to assist points or find a tape measure to counter point. *
- Measurements over several meters in sunlight need a few seconds to a measured value appears, sometimes you have to search a bit offset point or somehow abschatten.Dunkle the target areas are particularly unfavorable.
People with red-green color blindness (10% of men) to bring up problems have to find the red laser dot.
Both, however, applies to all mW laser knife and is not specific to the PRL15.
* Example: Lets you over a distance of 2m an additional measurement error of approximately 1 mm to the angle error may be 1.8 deg or the lateral offset of the laser dot 63mm. That should be to create a careful measurement.
{The values have been corrected since the first version. See comment.}
A matter of taste:
The rangefinder comes in a giant compared tin box. This affects quality, but the box is so big that it does not drive. A compact package that you really always used as protection, would mE expediently.
Overall, the device is all worth 4 stars but because it is very convenient.
