A robotic vacuum cleaner has become for us with one of the major "household helper" in everyday life, and we have already gained relevant experience with the models of iRobot, especially with the 780er-Roomba model. As appeal elsewhere, the robot models all have their strength and weaknesses, so that the decision should be made for / resist a model with the individual needs of the household.
Basically, it is so that you have to create certain conditions for the use of vacuuming robots so that they can work well - so much like you have to load a dishwasher properly, so that they can work well. One should therefore, in my experience do not have inflated expectations that the current models work fully automated, self-cleaning of the apartment in the absence.
So now but to the core properties from HomBot VR 6270: He is compared to the Roomba 780er with much, much more electronic, complex control options provided. I would like at this point not to list the complete technical details, with the built-in cameras and sensors, and what else is in the device electronics, but one thing is clear: the HomBot can process much more information than the iRobot Roomba, and is geared more towards it from the plant to carry out a strategic self-cleaning of the apartment. This is also the same time its Achilles heel, at least in my apartment ...
Immediately with the first start the HomBot showed incredibly communicative and easy to a large extent in the operation. If you do not shut down the "Plapper mode" is obtained continuously from a ladies-voice, but also constantly announcements. As our Roomba limited to what is necessary, thank God. After a few hours of charging HomBot is ready for use, and also keeps the battery significantly longer than through Roomba.
There can be chosen different Grundreinigungsmodi when HomBot (I'll call it gyro mode, loop mode, etc.), with which it leaves the premises, or basically trying him to learn the space architecture with the remote control, so that it independently the Facilities traverses. I must confess that I rather quickly lost with the latter mode patience. I have not been able to assign him such as the kitchen area of the dimensions here, and have so far preferred to hire one of the basic modes and just close the door, so that Homie rages alone.
When Roomba there is the possibility to manually delineate the lighthouses area is situated on this little extra equipment, so as to create a sort of light barrier so Roomba is stopped. This way I miss at Homie.
From the cleaning effect Roomba is in some areas near the front (you can see it, what you rausholt average from the dust container), at par with other homie. Especially with our velor carpets has Homie more trouble he gets out less particulate matter, and fibers and fluff stick sooner.
But homie goes by its shape better in the corners in, and bring more dirt out. Another problem that arises in us by the sensitivity of Homie is that he regularly bucks before the carpet runners and chattering ceases to operate. Roomba to this without mucking and cleans them without complaint. That's with us at least a considerable disadvantage because a gigantic runner is simply not sucked in transition, except you stand next to it and starts bucking Homie repeatedly.
One advantage of homie in turn, that it's very quiet at Roomba no further action is almost incidentally in the rooms possible, in which it operates, and the neighbors do me regularly sorry when Roomba's operations, because of the noise. Homie, however, is extremely quiet and pleasant.
My conclusion is that the LG HomBot its approach a much more complex, potentially intelligent household helper, as the Roomba, which in turn is more durable and easier to knit. However Homie comes due to its sensitive nature described in our budget to its limits.
