While listening, you feel transported into a cozy pub in the heart of Glasgow, where you listen to a glass of beer the young singer, who ensures there with her guitar in hand and a few mates around them for proper Feierabend mood. The whole thing sounds so sincere and down to earth, it is just a joy to listen to. For me, anyway, each pass of the CD is like a short trip to Amy's home. And for that reason I could hear the whole day the CD :-)
Particularly well done, I find
- The two opener "4th of July" and "Pride" that give rise to the right 'pubs Feeling "with its thrilling rhythms equal,
- The wonderfully lightweight title song "Life in a Beautiful Light", which captures the feeling of total infatuation
- The football anthem "The green and the blue," which deals with the rivalry of their two home teams Celtic Glasgow and Glasgow Rangers
- And the straighte "In the end", in which I am presenting in a duet with Bruce Springsteen, because the song could somehow always just as he comes to me.
My conclusion: honest, handmade music of a singer who has recovered after a brief detour into pop milieu entirely to himself. And anyone who produced well, but still original folk / rock music like, I can only recommend this CD.
Terrific.
