Because of the great tests and "advice" on the net, I have my Philips Blue Vision replace these bulbs, as a kind of "winter lights". If you - like me - lives on the land, the light you need not only to be seen, but also to yourself to see something. Since the light can still be so beautiful white, brighter is better in any case. Even first: The author is practiced law in exchanging lamps (if you have driven for a while Osram Night Breaker that you have to change every few months, has just gets exercise) and helps in sharing gloves, as they also coin collectors. Why do I mention this, it becomes clear later.
The first impression is unfortunately a total disaster. That the inner part of the box moves with the lights on a tab out of the box, is not illustrated on one of the folding flaps. That the inner part as a parallelogram must be unfolded to get the lamps is already nowhere. That the lamps simply fall out so, of course, is also nowhere. And you've got a 1a-chance that one raus and fall off the lamps. Is thankfully not happened to me, but further in the text. What struck me after unpacking is that the inner part of my lamps not centered in glass flask, but a few degrees angle has that serves determines the performance optimization. Just funny that the interior as of other lamps used in the other lamp is centered in the glass bulb. But looking at the incredibly cheap-looking "silver" coating the tip of the glass bulb look at, it seems in any case to be considered as negligible at Bosch manufacturing quality. No matter, what matters is the performance.
Installation in my Golf VI held ready for the next surprise. Clear space is tight, but you schranzt during installation of the lamp even the slightest bit along the inside of the attachment - which is simply impossible to avoid, because you please show me even a car or an engine compartment, in which the lamps just can use - so "crumbs" of Bechichtung bröseln merrily into the reflector and remain lying there. This is also determined the performance optimization. Only annoying that we now actually have to the workshop, because dirt on the reflector is known, not well.
After the first turn on the low beam to check then the next shock: After the few seconds-pre-set auto-from turning on the light until something had deposited on the reflector. As mentioned above, the author was wearing gloves and, of course, has been seen before installing again that the flask was attached no dirt. Removing So Hechtsprung from the car and the light bulbs again and notice that apparently some sort of "protective layer" on the piston must have been because there was nothing else to see what could be responsible for the deposit on the reflector. Except, of course, the (incredibly cheap-looking) coating the plunger tip is so fast already evaporated. Perhaps anything but tight-cardboard packaging is also through the unsealed, something gets on the glass bulb. Why should you deliver lamps in a closed package. No matter, you do not change, then I've just with this super cool high quality lamps reflectors my only four-month-old Gulf dirty. REALLY GREAT. But maybe that's light for really very great? Ok, the inclined spiral in one of the lamps will certainly not provide an optimal light distribution, but oh well.
Definitively the fax thick I had but when I then tried the light times in the dark: Who called this Light as "white" or "almost white", should you urgently go to the eye doctor. The light color can not even begin to a Philips Blue Vision approach, but that was to be expected. And the brightness? I for one do not see any difference in favor of Bosch bulbs, and after all the trouble I was really happy to see an improvement. Suggest a "wow factor" as defined by the countless effusive reviews, "advice" and tests, there is no question now really be. Apparently, most of the "advice" is simply parroting the other opinions or even the manufacturers propaganda.
I for one will keep the deposit on the reflector in the eye and maybe inquire at Bosch, how to keep it there with the Product Liability. The lamps themselves are exchanged in any case again at the next opportunity. And certainly not against lamps from Bosch.
My conclusion: Stay away.

Update 10/11/2011:
The lamps are now given way Philips Xtreme Vision, in which the coating of the plunger tip survives the installation without any problem. The Bosch have as would be expected even resented also expanding. When removing I need to be slightly scandalized with the plunger tip somewhere again; the result is an expansive chipping of silver paint on both lamps. (Who probably has located at the leaning inside one of the lamps) This combined with the true good, but far from outstanding luminous efficacy and the canine geometry unfortunately only confirms my initial conclusion.
